Sharpmark’s tie-on labels offer efficiency and durability!

Sharpmark solutions have always offered a tie-on labelling solution, whether it is an engraved label or a two piece solution consisting of a carrier strip and adhesive label.

Whilst both of these tie-on solutions have their uses, Sharpmark have been investigating and developing an alternative. Research has highlighted the requirement for a label that can be printed quickly, applied securely using cable ties and is durable enough to tolerate the harsh environments this style of label must endure.

Having tested a number of different options, Sharpmark has found a suitable material that can offer all of the above. Sticking with the A4 label sheet format, Sharpmark have now developed a new tie-on label that can offer an efficient, cost effective and robust solution.

Sharpmark’s new LT10 label is suitable for numerous cable applications, including larger cables and cable bundles. Available in five colours, the LT10 labels are made from polyester providing a durable, water resistant label.

Each LT10 label sheet is perforated down the middle, allowing users to either print a full sheet or half a sheet, saving the other half for use at a later date. Labels are fixed using two cable ties, one either end, each label has four holes suitable for a cable tie 2.5mm to 4.8mm wide offering a greater choice of application.

Sharpmark customers can now track their package from Sharpmark’s website!

Sharpmark’s new website was launched in March. Since the launch, Sharpmark have been working hard to find out what you, the customer thinks of the new site. As a result of customer feedback, there have been a number of improvements made to the new website including an improved product menu.

Something Sharpmark have been keen to integrate with their new site is a package tracking facility. Customers have always been provided with the ability to track their goods, but now customers will be able to track their package from Sharpmark’s homepage. The tracking facility will provide customers with details of where their package is in the delivery process and POD information if the package has been delivered successfully.

Keep an eye out for further adjustments to Sharpmark’s homepage!

Sharpmark Software is compatible with Excel

Over the last couple of months Sharpmark have been speaking to customers to find out what they think of the Sharpmark Labelling Solution. Something that has been highlighted is the use of Excel with Sharpmark’s Software.

Since the inception of Sharpmark’s Software it has always been possible to copy from an Excel spreadsheet and paste into the Sharpmark Software.

From Excel to Sharpmark

Start by creating your job within the Sharpmark Software. When you are ready to enter your label detail, copy the information from your Excel spreadsheet. Now go back to the Sharpmark Software and press the ‘Paste’ button at the top of the ‘Layout Editor’.

All that’s left to do is adjust your font and print…..simple.

Sharpmark Introduce a Thermal Solution!

For the past three years Sharpmark Solutions have been the main supplier of labels to the BT21CN project. Prior to being approved as an official supplier, all labels for the project had to meet BT’s strict quality requirements to ensure they were suitable for the installation environment. Due to the variety of equipment being labelled and the unique label sizes required, Sharpmark had to commission the manufacture of 8 new labels.

Two of the labels commissioned for manufacture were thermal wrap around labels. Having recently carried out market research and identified that a number of customers would be very interested in a pre-printed thermal wrap around solution, Sharpmark have commissioned the manufacture of an additional wrap around label to provide customers with a better choice of label size.

As we all know times are hard and Sharpmark, like all businesses, are looking to save customers money wherever possible. How Sharpmak Solutions can save you time when it comes to labelling

Finding the most efficient labelling solution for a project can be difficult. If not executed properly it can become an expensive and time consuming task.

Sharpmark have created their labelling range to address these issues. Working with numerous manufacturers, including ADC Krone, Brand-Rex and Excel, Sharpmark have developed labelling solutions for hundreds of panels and modules, consisting of adhesive and non-adhesive labels.

To help find the right label for a specific job, Sharpmark have developed a Compatibility Chart (www.sharpmark.com/product_compatability.php) where customers can search by manufacturer. Each manufacturer has a list of products alongside the compatible Sharpmark label part. If a specific part is not listed, Sharpmark liaise with the manufacturer to find a suitable solution- updating their Compatibility Chart accordingly!

To reduce the time it takes to produce labels, Sharpmark have developed their Software which is pre-loaded with templates for all parts listed within the Compatibility Chart. All that’s left for the customer to do is select the part they are using and enter their label information ready for printing.

Another cost saving measure Sharpmark have employed is to develop their labels on A4 sheets, printed using a standard office laser printer. This removes the expense of purchasing a printer for the sole purpose of printing labels.

  1. Go to the Sharpmark Compatibility chart and search for your product and the compatible Sharpmark part (All products are available to purchase online and are despatched on a next day delivery service).
  2. Download Sharpmark’s Labelling Software from their website (currently on offer free of charge.  RRP £75.00).
  3. Enter your sequence and print in the office ready for application when you arrive on site!

Important: All Sharpmark label sheets are pre-cut for ease of application.

Sharpmark Software improves for Windows 7!

Here at Sharpmark we know only too well the importance of having a labelling tool that works when you need it to. That’s why we are constantly updating, not only our product range, but also our Sharpmark Software.

As we all know, nothing remains the same for any length of time, especially when it comes to technology, which is why we have some important news about our Sharpmark Software.

A New and Improved Solution

In response to Microsoft’s recent release of Windows 7 we have developed a new software installer to be used when downloading the Sharpmark Software from our website. The new installer has also resulted in a new version of our software being developed which is compatible with all versions of Microsoft Windows, ranging from Windows 95 and Windows 98 through to Vista and Windows 7.

The software download process is now faster, with a single file being downloaded which executes the full installation in seconds.  For customers who already have a copy of the Sharpmark Software, the new installer will remove the old version as part of the download process before installing the new version keeping everything nice and tidy.
